A Look Into the Life of Tim

I’ve tried to write about myself more times than I can count, but so far I haven’t been able to come up with much. Well, I tell a bit of a lie: there’s plenty to say, but I simply haven’t been able to figure out the right words. Now, however, I think I finally have it, so without further ado…

My name is Timothy Vechik, and I love what I do. I have a wonderful, talented network of individuals that I work with on a regular basis, although my company at this point still comprises of, well, me. The great thing for me about being the boss is I can get as sarcastic as I like with the head honcho without getting into trouble. For me, that’s big; REAL big. Oh, and I have a suave British accent; that’s got to count for something, right?

I’m also a husband and a father, in that order. I love my kids even more than I love what I do, but my wife has been known to declare that it has been a close race. I’m also a perfectionist, at least when it comes to the images and art that I create. I am far too familiar with 4 am, but it can certainly add a little bit of drama to any editing session: “As he toiled late into the night, he forgot about all but the task at hand. As the stars whirled past and the moon rose and set unheeded, Tim knew that he was going to create something special.” See what I mean?

“So how did you get into photography Tim?” Well, you know what? I’m glad you asked. I’ve had a camera of one form or another since I was 5, yes five. For as long as I can remember I’ve seen the world through a lens (notwithstanding the glasses that I always wear of course.) A few years ago it finally made sense to open a business to call my own, and so with quite a large amount of trepidation I did. Was I nervous? Yes. Was I scared? Probably. Was I excited? Most definitely. Photography is in my blood (but in a good way); I live and breathe photography every day of my life.

More importantly than any of that, I love getting to know new people. Finding out everything that people love, seeing their lives unfold in front of my lens is an honor and a privilege, and is something that I take very seriously. Creating art for others isn’t easy, but it is something that I have dedicated my life to and is something that I LOVE. This is the best job on earth; it’s fun and exciting, engaging and full of drama of the best kind. I can’t wait to hear your story, and to create something that will be passed on from generation to generation.

As I love to say as an intro to what I do, “I shoot people, but in a good way!”
